In 1997, he launched Hispanic Market Weekly, the newsletter. Five years later, his team introduced hispanicmarketweekly.com, the first and only fully-reported digital daily on U.S. Hispanic marketing and media. Before Vista, Villar was the editor of ALA, The Latin American Features Syndicate, from 1974 to 1984, and publisher of Opiniones Latinoamericanas, the premier monthly magazine on hemispheric issues. Villar has served on numerous journalism and academic boards, including the Board of Visitors at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Director of Columbia’s Maria Moors Cabot Journalism Awards program, and co-chair of Florida International University’s School of Communications Advisory Council. Luis Clemens, Editor |

Luis Clemens is Editor-in-Chief of La Política, the first and only electronic trade publication offering comprehensive insights on reaching Hispanic voters. In this role, Clemens manages a host of freelancers in major Hispanic markets, who report on the intersection of politics and the U.S. Hispanic community. After starting his career at the Telemundo and NBC O&Os in Miami, Clemens moved to CNN en Español where he was eventually named Buenos Aires bureau chief and Regional Newsgathering Manager. Clemens has spent several years covering the Hispanic television industry for Multichannel News and the bi-weekly newsletter, Hispanic Television Update, while also writing about Latino pop culture for a number of publications. Clemens went on to work as a public affairs officer for the United Nations World Food Programme in Zimbabwe and as a Regional Media and Advocacy Coordinator for Oxfam in Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Before re-starting a career in journalism, he owned and operated two laundromats in Xalapa, Mexico. Clemens studied Public Affairs at Princeton University as well as English and Government at Bowdoin College. Roberto Suro, Board of Contributors |

Roberto Suro chairs La Política’s Board of Contributors. He is a professor of journalism at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and a noted researcher and commentator on the Hispanic population and immigration matters. Suro had served as director of the Pew Hispanic Center, a Washington-based research organization which he founded in 2001. At the Center, Suro supervised the production of more than 100 publications that offered non-partisan information on the rapid growth of the Latino population and its implications for the nation as a whole. He is author of Strangers Among Us: Latino Lives in a Changing America (Vintage), as well as numerous reports, articles and other publications regarding the growth of the Latino population. He has written about American politics and the Hispanic role in American politics since the 1970s. At the Pew Hispanic Center, Suro directed numerous public opinion polls charting Hispanic attitudes on politics and policy as well as extensive statistical analyses of Latino voting. During his career in journalism Suro wrote for TIME Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post and other publications. He worked extensively in Washington, did tours as a domestic correspondent in Chicago and Houston and was posted as a foreign correspondent in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Voss has enjoyed an 18-year career in marketing a variety of newsletters, catalogs, events, and magazines . He is involved with several Miami causes, including board member and most recent president of the Oleta River Adventure Association, a non profit Florida-based group. John Voss is La Política's chief operating officer, responsible for marketing, operations, contract negotiations, customer service and sales. Previously he was the associate publisher and chief operating officer of Alert Global Media, the leading source of information on money laundering.
