A sense of indignation permeates many of La Opinión’s news articles. There is nothing wishy-washy about The Opinion’s editorial stance and the paper is not shy about having a point of view. You can agree with them or despise their thinking but you know where they stand.
Consider the opening grafs from one of today’s articles (the translation is mine):
Hundreds of immigrants who live in the most inhumane conditions surrounded by million-dollar homes in one of the wealthiest counties of California were unable to receive any kind of assistance in the aftermath of the wildfires that have affected thousands.
Because of the disaster, hundreds of immigrants have been unable to work because their terrified bosses fled the fires in their luxury automobiles and have yet to return or are only beginning to do so.
The majority of these workers are immigrants who lack any kind of identification or transport. The most fortunate among them have bicycles, but the canyon where they live is miles from where they live and thus impossible to reach.
